CELTA VIGO 1 2 REAL MADRID

And after that insane five minute spell we got a bit of a breather to see us throughto the break.

Talk about being at your most vulnerable after you’ve scored. Celta don’t know what’s hit them. Bale doinghis best to make up for lost time in making himself Real’s joint top scorer this season with four. Not the kind of stats we expect from Real, especially at this stage of the season, but they can certainly pat themselveson the backas they go in for half time.

2 1 at the break.

GOAL! CELTA VIGO 1 2 REAL MADRID(Bale, 38)

This is getting a bit overwhelming all of a sudden. It’s Real Madrid again, it’s Gareth Bale again and it’s 2 1 to the visitors, just five minutes after they fell behind.

And it’s classic Real again. Isco gathers it maybe 40 yards out and only needs a second to spot the run of Bale, who nips across his man and applies a beautiful, beautiful finish past Blanco.

Celta cannot believe what’s happened to them since Wass’s goal. It’s been an avalanche of goals.

STICKY PATCH

What with the winter break and that long haul trip to the UAE for the World Club Cup in December, it’s actually been just under a month since Real Madrid last registered a goal in La Liga. They’ve only had one run out in that time, that 3 0 tonking against Barca on December 23rd, but what with their difficulty in breaking down Al Jazira out in the Gulf and falling (I think I’ve mentioned this?) 17 points behind the leaders it all stacks up to a royal sticky patch for the royal whites.

Something like normal service was resumed with the dispatching of Numancia in the Copa del Rey a routine 3 0 swatting but the doubters still doubt. No equivocations, it’s got tot to be three points tonight for Real. It’s just got to be.

THE VENUE

Here’s a little look at what the Balaidos was looking like earlier this evening before the place started to fill up. Should be a decent crowd inside the old ground tonight, as it tends to be whenever Real are in town.

They’re only six points off the bottom three Celta going into this one. You would imagine it would take a pretty awful second half of the campaign to really pull them into any serious trouble, but you can’t deny that a nine point cushion would be a nice springboard to kick on from.
